Question by Wife and mother of 2: I am planning a trip to Las Vegas in May 2010 and I heard that Criss Angel shows are not great! Has anyone?
Has anyone seen Criss Angel Las Vegas Believe show this year (2010) and how was it? Also has anyone seen The Lion King’s production?

My mother-in-law said that she was not impressed when she saw Chriss Angel a few weeks ago. She was really looking forward to seeing him but she said she felt a little let down & there were no cameras or anything allowed. She said that seeing Carrot Top was a lot better. If you have a chance to go see The Lion King- GO! Its amazing!

Question by David G: Can anyone recommend the best deals in Vegas right now for poker players?
I’m looking for a room at an upscale hotel on the strip (Bellagio, Venetian, Encore, Caesar’s, etc.) in October and I’m a poker player. I plan on playing a lot of poker and I know there are deals if you commit to a certain number of hours per day of play.

Can anyone recommend the best deal for one of the hotels mentioned above and include the specifics (price per night and hours of play)?

I have only played at Venetian before to what I know about in June, you have to play at least 2/5 NL and above for 6-8 hours up per day to get half the price of the room. The room rate is around $ 350, so you pay about 175ish, I’m not sure if you play higher stake like 5/10 or 10/20 would change anything. Also Bellagio has the worse comps, they barely give anything for free. Caesar might have some deal give them a call. Encore is brand new hotel, I think their room rate should be same as Venetian or lil bit less. If you play high stake your winners should cover the room rate.
Also on/off the stripes not on your list. you can play at MGM for 6-8 hours and up at a $ 40 per night. Bally has a $ 100 bonus for Aces been cracked Mon to Thur 9am -12pm, $ 100 bounes for any Quads, Rio also has freeroll tournament everyday at 6pm with 3 hours of live play to qualify. there are much more of poker deals, so good luck, hope you win.

I really love the History of Las Vegas, is there anyone on this site that stayed at the old casinos like The Dunes, The Sands, Landmark, The Mint. How was the experience there? How long ago was it? Did you get to see some of the old performers like Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, etc. Was vegas really alot different back then.

this is a great question. have you seen the videos on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNfPz1ai8IM it is in ten parts but i like this one especially as it shows nothing but gas stations, small stores and tiny motels between caesars and the frontier just 30 years ago .

Vegas is actually a good bit different since the first time i visited in 1998, then they were trying to attract more families and children, while today they have gone back to the adult theming again.

if i had a time machine the first place i would visit would be las vegas in the 1960s/early 70s.

I accessed the special pricing last week via their website and it said that it expired on March 17th. I lost the code since then and it’s not listed on the promo code website I found it on now that I’m ready to purchase. Yeah the guys on the show are just hired actors right? I went to the shop & they weren’t there, just other employees. So they don’t actuall exist in real life.

Yes I have been there and both the father and son were working, one in the back area. Remember the shop is open 24/7 and everyone has to have a life outside of work and time off so you may just have missed the time either/both were working
