Question by Mr SmoothHead: Venetian a good Las Vegas hotel?
I’m planning to spend about 4 nights at the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas the first week of Las Vegas.

Is this a pretty good place to stay. It is a bit expensive, but seems worth it.

Are there any other place on the strip that I can stay that is comparable to Venetian, but cheaper?

Venetian is wonderful and very central. Other places that are comparable quality wise is Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Mirage & Wynn. If price is an issue, look for discount promo codes from these hotels. Here are a few.

Cheap .. no. They are offering a 25% discount on certain shows if purchased over the internet. Just go to the mirage website to check it out.

Question by Tim Gardner: What is the best hotel in vegas for the 25-30 crowd? Would want one with a good pool scene and good nightlife?
This is for a trip to vegas for a bunch of my friends. Mixed crowd with regards to females and males…….just trying to get some feedback. I’ve looked into Hard Rock (worried about it being off the strip), Planet Hollywood Towers looks ok, but has mixed reviews, and the Venetian looks to have great nightlife but the hotel itself appears to be old fashioned

You are right about the problem with the Hard Rock is it’s location. Same is true with the Palms. Planet Hollywood would be your best choice with it having a younger crowd. Forget the Venetian as it not a party place to stay. You can always enjoy the night life at any hotel. PH puts you right in the center of things on the strip. Forget reviews for the most part. Most are fake or they have a beef with the property over something stupid.

The Luxor is a really neat theme hotel on the strip. You can get a room right in the Pyramid which is cool. It has an egyptian theme to it. New York New York is another ideal choice. They have a huge Coney Island type arcade on the second level which is always packed with kids. Don’t forget about their roller coaster. Lots of fun!

I plan on going to las vegas during winter vacation and was wondering if anyone knew any awesome comedy shows. I originally wanted to see dave chapelle but i havent seen anything recently about him. Also something that allows a 16 year old in. Thanks

Yes, unfortunately most of the shows Dave Chapelle does now are unannounced and low-key (as far as I know). However, if you go to the shows section on VisitLasVegas.com (http://www.visitlasvegas.com/vegas/play/shows/) and sort by “comedy” you will find some good options for when you are in town. I am taking a vacation to Las Vegas during the first week of June. I have never been. I am looking for any suggestions on what should I see or visit? Do you have any recommendations as to what hotel we should stay at? I am taking my girlfriend who turns 21 the day we arrive and my 19 year old brother . I am 21 also. We are looking for places to drink and have fun. I am interested in History, my brother likes Animals and girlfriends likes basically anything. So any suggestions or ideas is appreciated. Thank you!

well depending on how long you will be in the room don’t spend too much if you are just going to sleep if that’s the case just stay at the sahara it’s cheap in all senses of the word, if you want to stay in a nice hotel I recommend the signature at mgm I love it.
go and watch penn and teller at the rio or watch bite it’s sexy, the wax museum is a good way to burn some time and then go shopping at neiman marcus, my fave. You have to eat at the buffet in the wynn and have breakfast at hash house a go go it is awesome and you won’t be hungry for like 3 days. The sahara has the nascar cafe with the b3 burrito it’s 6lbs. good luck on that.
A great place to have dinner is in Gallagher’s in new york new york. buy the 3day ticket for the monorail you’ll be glad you did
