Question by Sean P: What Vegas hotel would you recommend for a non gambling couple?
Hello everyone, my wife and myself are thinking of going to Vegas for our 5 year anniversary and neither of us have ever been there before. We are only looking to stay like 4 days. Where should we stay? Neither of us like to gamble, we would just be there to sightsee and maybe see a show or two. I’ve heard that we shouldn’t stay downtown and to stay focused on the south/central strip area. There are so many choices which one is the best and why? We probably don;t want to spend over $ 150 a night for the room.

Im not really sure what hotel to choose, because I’ve stayed in Treasure Island hotel, but its a litte more than 150 a night. Just a warning, there are a LOT of smokers in Vegas. Good thing you are not a gambler cause most of the smoking takes place there.

sure, you have to pay face value for the chips. just put em in your pocket
you give them real money, they give you fake money that can only be spent in their casino. If you dont use it, the casino wins

My best friend and I are going to Vegas in September and we are trying to decide which hotel is best for us. We have narrowed it down to the Monte Carlo, Luxor, or New York, New York…

We want to be in a fun place with a younger crowd and have no idea which of these are our best bet.

Don’t stay in the Luxor. The service is soooo bad. You will never be able to even get a coke while gaming, unless you actually grab the arm of a waiter (which I did). My room was very beat up, torn carpeting, stains in the tub. I could not believe this Hotel was made so cheaply. It is only a few years old! LOL. My wife and I went to other casinos and found we were treated with so much respect, so friendly waiters that came back to check on us again and again. We made up our minds never to go back to Luxor. We prefer the Riviera, but we don’t have kids.

The only one open this time of year is Tropicana. It closes a wall to have an indoor pool. For outdoor pools all hotels here have a pool. Just check for the price you want and it is after April 1 then their pool should be open.

Question by sometimes: In a Las Vegas hotel like the Bellagio, can you charge shopping to the room?
I am going to las vegas soon and do not want to carry cash around with me as I shop. Is it possible to just charge things to the room and have it go on to that credit card instead?

The only thing you can do that with is like room service, dry cleaning or anything that the hotel itself provides. The stores on the property only rent the space from the management company and do not allow payment through your room.

I plan on going to Vegas weekend after new years. The hotel I’m looking into is Caesars palace. Will I still be able to book a hotel room with just a check card, or would I need a major credit card?

You can use your card if it has a Visa or Mastercard emblem on it. If it does not then you can not book a room.

I do not want to spend a lot of money on a hotel when I stay in Vegas, but want it to be on the strip. I saw that the Circus Circus offers rooms for a little more than $ 20 a night during weekdays. Are there any other hotels you could recommend to me for a price range of up to $ 35 per night during weekdays?

I would want the room to be clean. Kind of had a bad experience with a room like that before.

Imperial Palace. It’s across the street from Caesar’s Palace and has really inexpensive rates. Smoking rooms have balconies.

Or, you can try Stratosphere. But the reason it’s so cheap is because its at the very END of the strip.

The Luxor is a really neat theme hotel on the strip. You can get a room right in the Pyramid which is cool. It has an egyptian theme to it. New York New York is another ideal choice. They have a huge Coney Island type arcade on the second level which is always packed with kids. Don’t forget about their roller coaster. Lots of fun!
