Question by raptorbay: What is the best place in Las Vegas to play video poker at the bar?
I like to play video poker at the bar while the bartender pours me free drinks. I know of alot of great places like this in Reno. What are some good places for this in Las Vegas?

Went to Vegas recently. Was wondering why no place in Vegas does Strip Poker? Dont you have to be 21 to gamble? Everyone is an adult. Even nudie clubs you only have to be 18. Cant places have a room someplace closed off? Maybe you can get your clothes back even when finished who knows.

The Sunday game at the Luxor is quite good for beginners. The 1st hour is run as limit poker so you won’t get busted out early and then it changes to no limit.

Question by first_time: How much money do I need to play poker in Vegas for about a week?
I’m going to Vegas this next summer and I want to hit the tables while I’m there. I’ll probably be there for about 4 – 5 days. About how much money will I need to play poker for a few hours a day while I’m there?

Well, it depends what limits you want to play. The lowest limit NL Texas Holdem game you’re going to find is $ 1/2 with a $ 200 max buy in. I wouldn’t sit at that table without at least $ 400 ($ 600 or even $ 800 would be better). If you are going to play limit, you need at least 50 BBs per session, which would be $ 300 at a $ 3/6 table.

But that’s just a daily budget. How well you do will certainly play into the total amount you need to bring. I’d say to bring at least $ 1000, and $ 2000 would be better if you hit a bad run. But really, bring what you can afford to lose, and if you get down too much just find something else to do.

Another strategy could be to play just tournaments, then budget yourself out according to how much you want to spend. For example, you could say you were going to try to play one $ 100 (or two $ 50) tournament per day, and that’s it. If you did that, about $ 600 is fine.

I am at barracuda stage,not guppie not tiger shark either!But I played alot read alot joined online forums all in the quest to become a better player.My roomate who is also poker crazy was there for a week and qualified in a couple big satellite multis with pros and made the money in both!Yes to answer you yes,their are many minnows and few sharks.”Hogs get fat Pigs get slaughtered”
