Simple, first there’s a place called travelnice.com, it’s based in vegas, it sells all the shows at a discounted rate, but if you’re already there, then there’s a couple places on the strip that also sell the tickets at half the cost per ticket. And last but not least most shows that aren’t sold out will sometimes make you a deal at the last minute just to sell the seats.

Question by Aphrodite: What are some different social ills that can be found and taken pictures of around Las Vegas?
I am doing a project for history and our job is to take pictures of some social ills that can be found in society today. Such things as graffiti, pornography, etc. Except, every one in my class is using the same topics and I want to be unique. And I need to make sure I can go out and take pictures of what ever social ill I have chosen with out it being posed (must be natural, I can’t set up the scene). Any suggestions?

It’s Sin City so it shouldn’t be hard

- Drug use (may be hard to capture)
- Drinking (easy)
- Gambling (just take a picture of a casino)
- Graffiti (easy)
- Mental illness
- General crime (may be hard to capture)

I have a little brother who is returning from iraq in april and not only that he will be 21. We are flying out to Vegas and want to show him a good time. Since I have never been to Vegas i would like to know of some good shows to see in vegas

Yes, unfortunately most of the shows Dave Chapelle does now are unannounced and low-key (as far as I know). However, if you go to the shows section on VisitLasVegas.com (http://www.visitlasvegas.com/vegas/play/shows/) and sort by “comedy” you will find some good options for when you are in town. I really love the History of Las Vegas, is there anyone on this site that stayed at the old casinos like The Dunes, The Sands, Landmark, The Mint. How was the experience there? How long ago was it? Did you get to see some of the old performers like Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, etc. Was vegas really alot different back then.

this is a great question. have you seen the videos on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNfPz1ai8IM it is in ten parts but i like this one especially as it shows nothing but gas stations, small stores and tiny motels between caesars and the frontier just 30 years ago .

Vegas is actually a good bit different since the first time i visited in 1998, then they were trying to attract more families and children, while today they have gone back to the adult theming again.

if i had a time machine the first place i would visit would be las vegas in the 1960s/early 70s.
